Elevate the Stage: Amplifying Pediatric Cancer Research

SEPTEMBER 5, 2025

Social hour begins at 6:00 pm

Live music begins at 7:00 pm

We’ll sing, toast, and stand together to lift up brighter futures for kids facing cancer—because every note and every cheer brings us closer to better treatments and the chance to just let kids be kids.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a memorable night of music performed by emerging musicians from the region (Nashville, TN, Indianapolis, IN, Columbus, IN) and featuring short sets of many genres, including country, pop-rock, and Americana! Enjoy some of your favorite covers and be the first to hear original music from this talented group of musicians!

Welcome to Elevate Voices, a platform dedicated to the unique and powerful stories of those whose lives have been profoundly impacted by childhood cancer.

Here, survivors, their families, and those mourning a loved one come together, foster awareness, and drive advocacy and fundraising efforts.

Clint and Amber Nelson share the powerful story of their son Chandler. Showcase their faith, resilience, & finding purpose after losing him to alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma at age 20 on a recent podcast, ‘Love in the Hard.’ Discover why they have chosen to support Elevate’s mission to improve and save lives and more about their incredible son, Chandler who positively impacted those who were fortunate to have met him. Listen to the podcast and Read Chandler’s Story HERE .

Justin Spoon. Asbury. Sarcoma. Collegiate cross-country runner. Rhabdomyosarcoma, Elevate Childhood Cancer.

Introducing Elevate Voices, Justin Spoon

Justin Spoon is the son of Robyn & Joel Spoon, founders of Elevate Childhood Cancer Research and Advocacy in the fall of 2023, shortly after their young adult son, Justin, passed away in March of that year due to a critical lack of treatments for childhood cancers—particularly the one he had been diagnosed with just a short time before.

Robyn reflects on the day Justin was diagnosed—a moment that changed the course of all their lives & what followed. What began as a devastating diagnosis eventually became the catalyst for Elevate. Learn more by reading Justin’s Elevate Voice HERE.

Mackenzie Wilmoth, Elevate voices. Sarcoma.

Elevate Voices, Mackenzie Wilmoth

A few years ago, Mackenzie was diagnosed with a desmoid tumor– a diagnosis that completely altered the trajectory of her life. Today, she’s not only a talented musician, but also a fierce advocate for pediatric cancer awareness and improved treatments.

Mackenzie shares her story in her own words: what she went through, what she’s learned, and where she is now. She takes pride in both her physical and metaphorical scars, using them as symbols of strength and purpose– and as a part of seeking dramatic improvements alongside Elevate for those diagnosed with childhood cancer.

We’re also honored to share her mom’s powerful perspective on the day of Mackenzie’s diagnosis and everything that followed. Together, this mother-daughter duo has elevated awareness, driven by firsthand experience and a deep passion for change.

These two embody what it means to be advocates for Elevate and our mission– and we are proud to share their voices HERE.
